Life can change in a second.
The hardest conversation isn't the one about planning for the unexpected. It's the conversation your family is forced to have when you haven't.
If there's one thing I've learned in more than 30 years of practicing law, it's that none of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Throughout my career I've helped people and families navigate some of life's most unexpected and difficult moments, and I've seen how quickly circumstances can change.
- What if something happens to me?
- Who would make decisions if I couldn't?
- Would my family know what I wanted?
- What would happen to my home, my savings, or everything I've worked so hard to build?
Most of us push the what-if questions aside. We're busy raising families, working, building businesses. We tell ourselves we'll get around to it someday. But without proper planning, the people you love may be left making important decisions without knowing your wishes, facing court proceedings, legal expenses and delays at the very moment they need access most.
It doesn't have to be that way. You can choose now who will speak for you if you cannot, decide how your assets will be managed and passed on, and give the people you love something invaluable: answers, direction and peace of mind.
After spending most of my career helping people after the unexpected happens, I also help individuals and families prepare before it does.
